Position Overview
Join our team as a Veterinary Technician who supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Responsibilities include providing patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, assisting with feeding and caring for patients, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharging patients, and maintaining patient medical records.
Animal Care Extraordinaire in Stuart, Florida, is a trusted, full-service veterinary provider focused on delivering personalized, high-quality care to every patient. With a compassionate team and a wide range of services, they are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of pets in their community.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments, exams, lab tests, and diagnostic imaging
- Provide care including vitals, sample collection, medications, and wound treatment
- Assist veterinarians during exams and surgeries; prepare and handle patients
- Maintain patient comfort, feeding, cleanliness, and monitor for health changes
- Administer and manage medications, including controlled substances
- Keep facilities clean, sterile, and compliant with safety regulations
- Maintain accurate medical records and update databases
- Communicate patient updates to pet owners as directed
- Manage equipment, inventory, and supply orders
- Discharge patients and ensure they are clean and ready to go home
- Follow directions and perform additional duties as assigned
